Saltwater fishes
of the St. Lawrence:
conservation status

The map of the conservation index shows this issue in a slightly different light than the maps of disparities in species richness and rareness indices. For example, it shows some relatively poor regions having greater importance in conservation, such as the maritime estuary and the Anticosti gyre, west of Anticosti Island. The northwest of Anticosti Island and at a lesser degree, the waters off the Lower North Shore also scored high in this respect.
